1. Seoul Grand Park Zoo: the classic first zoo trip

Elephants at Seoul Grand Park Zoo
Seoul Grand Park Zoo is one of the biggest zoos in Korea, and you can reach it by subway. Little legs get help from the elephant train and a sky lift, and there is plenty of space to run around. It is a full, easy day out that works for babies in strollers right up to preschoolers.
- Good for: all ages, and stroller friendly
- Tip: the zoo is large, so plan your route and use the train or lift to save energy

2. Buramsan Aegibong: a real summit in 15 minutes
The view from Aegibong ('Baby Peak')
Aegibong literally means "Baby Peak." The shortest trail is only 450m, with boardwalks and stairs that have railings. Our 33-month-old walked to the top himself in about 15 minutes, and the granite summit has views across the city to the mountains. It is the perfect first hike, especially in autumn.
- Good for: ages 2 and up walking, or a baby in a carrier (no strollers)
- Tip: start from Buramsa Temple's free parking lot and keep hold of little hands on the summit rock

3. Clam digging at Masian Beach: muddy, hands-on fun

Digging for clams together on the Masian mudflat
At low tide, the mudflats near Incheon Airport turn into a giant playground where kids dig for real clams. Boots and tools are available to rent, and a tractor wagon takes you out onto the flats. It is one of the most memorable things we have done with our toddler, and the adults had just as much fun.
- Good for: ages 2 and up, and anyone who does not mind getting muddy
- Tip: the experience depends on the tide, so check the low-tide times before you go

4. Strawberry picking: the best winter outing
![]() |
Giant strawberries at the farm photo zone
From December to May, Korean families head to warm greenhouses to pick huge, sweet strawberries. Many farms also have animals to feed, play areas, and jam or ice cream making. It is a great answer to the question "what can we do with kids in a Korean winter?"
- Good for: ages 2 and up
- Tip: no car? Strawberry picking day tours from Seoul include transport

5. Inspire Resort, Incheon: the easiest first or last night
The giant Christmas tree at Inspire Resort during our year-end stay
We stayed over the year-end holidays, when the whole resort was lit up for Christmas. This big resort is about 10 minutes from Incheon Airport and has a free shuttle. It is the easiest place to land with a tired toddler or to spend the night before an early flight. The hotel can set up baby gear in the room if you ask in advance, the buffet is family friendly, and there is the Splash Bay indoor water park.
- Good for: families arriving in or leaving Korea, and rainy or cold days
- Tip: the hotel pool is now 13+ only, so families swim at Splash Bay (extra charge)

Combine them into a trip
- Arrival or departure day: pair Inspire Resort with clam digging at Masian, as both are on Yeongjong Island near the airport.
- Autumn weekend: hike Aegibong in the morning while the leaves are turning, then spend a relaxed afternoon at the Seoul Grand Park Zoo.
- Winter trip: go strawberry picking during the day and spend a warm night at Inspire with the indoor water park.
